A MAP OF THE SKY AND THE INNER WORLD

Maria Susarenko is an artist working primarily in graphic art and exploring the relationship between the individual and the surrounding space. She graduated from the St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, where she studied Costume Design and received her master’s degree in 2018. Additional studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design allowed her to broaden her artistic approach and develop a distinctive graphic language.

In her «Constellations» series, the artist turns to the image of the starry sky as a symbol of the connection between humanity and the universe. Constellations become not only astronomical objects, but also metaphors for memory, time, inner searching, and one’s path through life. Combining scientific precision of form with artistic interpretation, Maria creates visual spaces in which a map of the stars becomes a reflection of human experience.

Since 2024, the artist has participated in international contemporary art fairs. Her works have been exhibited in Russia, France, Spain, and the United States. Maria Susarenko continues to develop graphic art as a means of exploring space — from the architectural imagery of cities to the infinite scale of the cosmos.
