Edgar Invoker is an artist who lives and works in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts in 2007. Working in painting, he uses canvas, acrylic, airbrush, and mixed media. His practice places particular emphasis on the interaction of material, light, and surface, turning the process of creating a painting into a sustained exploration of form and structure.
In the «Stellar Matter» series, Edgar Invoker explores the relationship between humanity, nature, and the cosmos. His works bring together images of the human body, minerals, natural structures, and cosmological diagrams, creating a space in which scientific ideas intertwine with artistic perception. A multilayered technique of applying and removing paint creates surfaces marked by traces of previous states, while silver pigments produce the effect of shimmering stardust.
The artist regularly participates in solo and group exhibitions in Russia and abroad. His works have been shown in galleries in St. Petersburg and Moscow, published in art publications, and are held in private collections in Russia, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Through his work, Edgar Invoker explores the materiality of painting as a reflection of the processes that connect humanity and the universe.
