Anna Krasnaya is a St. Petersburg-based artist born in 1984. In 2006, she graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia with a degree in Painting, and since 2019 she has been a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. Working in a realist manner, she explores human emotional states, inner experiences, and moments of choice, transforming her paintings into visual narratives in which reality intertwines with the inner world.
In her work, Anna creates images of hybrid beings that exist on the boundary between the human and post-biological forms of life. Biomechanical bodies set within minimalist black-and-white spaces become metaphors for a future evolution in which human emotions encounter a new reality. The use of gold leaf, together with a combination of classical painting and contemporary technologies, heightens the sense of complexity and mystery.
The artist’s works are held in private collections in Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, and other countries. Anna Krasnaya regularly participates in international exhibitions, continuing to explore the boundaries of human nature, memory, and consciousness through the language of contemporary painting.
